Kampong Phluk is a unique and fascinating floating village located on the Tonle Sap Lake. The village is characterized by houses built on towering stilts that can be up to 10 meters high. During the wet season, the lake’s water level rises dramatically, immersing the stilts and giving the impression that the houses are floating. During the dry season, the water recedes, revealing the stilted structures. The village is home to a community of fishermen and is also known for its “flooded forest,” a mangrove ecosystem that can be explored by boat Tonle Sap Sunset Experiencing a sunset over the Tonle Sap Lake is a truly memorable event. Hotel Pick-up Included: Departure to pick-up from your hotel 04:40 am for a full day tour of Angkor Wat Sunrise, Ta Prohm Temple, Angkor Thom, Kampong Phluk Floating Village, Tonle Sap Sunset. Please be ready at the hotel lobby by 04:40 am.
🛕 Angkor Wat The crown jewel of Cambodia’s heritage and the largest religious monument in the world. Built in the 12th century by King Suryavarman II, it reflects both spiritual devotion and Khmer architectural mastery. Its towers, bas-reliefs, and reflection in the moat create one of the world’s most iconic sights.
🛕 Ta Prohm Temple Known as the “Tomb Raider Temple,” left in a semi-restored state where giant trees embrace ancient ruins. Its blend of jungle and temple makes it one of the most atmospheric and photogenic sites in Angkor.
🛕 Angkor Thom The last great capital of the Khmer Empire, founded by King Jayavarman VII. Highlights include the Bayon Temple, famous for its 216 serene smiling faces. The city’s gates and layout symbolize the Khmer vision of the universe.
🛕 Bakheng Mountain Sunset (Phnom Bakheng) A 9th-century hilltop temple dedicated to Shiva. Offers panoramic views of the Angkor complex, especially stunning at sunset. Arrive early to secure the best spot.
🌊 Kampong Phluk Floating Village A traditional fishing community built on towering stilts along the floodplain of Tonle Sap Lake. In the dry season, the houses rise dramatically above dusty streets; in the wet season, they appear to float on the water. Visiting here offers a glimpse into daily life—fishing, boat making, and markets—shaped entirely by the lake’s seasonal rhythm. Tonle Sap Sunset end the day on Southeast Asia’s largest freshwater lake. As you drift over the vast waters, the horizon stretches endlessly, and the setting sun paints the sky in golds, oranges, and purples, mirrored perfectly in the gentle ripples of the lake—a peaceful close to the day.
Return Back to Siem Reap: Transfer you back to the Siem Reap downtown and it is possible to drop you off, either at your hotel or Old market area. You are supposed to be back to your hotel by 7:00 PM.
