Overview
Embark on a journey beyond Angkor’s main complex to explore three remarkable temples, each with its own unique story and atmosphere.
Beng Melea, the mysterious 12th-century temple in the middle of the jungle. This temple is heavily overgrown with vegetation, trees, lianas, and mosses. This temple is surrounded by a rainforest due to it being abundant for over 300 years. When it is not fully restored, many local and international tourists fall in love with the area. Return to Siem Reap city.
The Koh Ker archaeological site before continuing on to Chok Gargyar, another ancient Khmer city. Finally, you’ll reach the much-anticipated visit to the historical city, Chok Gargyar. See three spectacular temples in Koh Ker’s archaeological site, including Prasat Thom (the Pyramid temple), Prasat Kroes Linga, and Prasat Prum temple. You’ll be hungry after that long drive, so settle into one of the restaurants nearby, and dig into some traditional Cambodian Amok, soups and stir-fries. Next up, you’ll visit the highly-intricate pink coloured Banteay Srei Temple – which translates beautifully to “The Citadel of Women”.
This full-day journey offers a mix of beauty, mystery, and history—perfect for those who want to experience the diversity of Cambodia’s temple heritage beyond Angkor Wat.
